The Gift of Life

Read this a few weeks a ago and it's reflecting my current motivation in everyday life, hope to share with my friend:
The gift of life is not a treasure hunt. Success can't be measured through the collection of material possessions. Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, or worn. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude. The treasure is within you. It needs only to be uncovered and discovered.

How do you measure success?
To laugh often and much;
To win respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children.
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child, a garden patch,
a redeemed social condition, or a job well done;
To know even one other life has breathed easier
because you have lived -
This is to have succeeded.
